No, Portraits on Black is not a traditional photo booth. Our signature service is a photographer-led Portrait Station, offering a luxury portrait experience at your event. Unlike typical photo booths, we provide a fully equipped professional studio setup, featuring high-end lighting, a dramatic black backdrop, and a skilled portrait photographer. The results? Timeless, high-end images that rival professional studio or wedding portraits.

Where do you provide your services?

We are based in Northeast Florida and primarily serve St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and surrounding areas. However, we are available for travel—please contact us for details on out-of-area bookings.

How long does the setup take?

We typically require 60–90 minutes for setup and 30–45 minutes for teardown. This ensures a seamless and professional presentation at your event.

What is the best time to start the session?

For weddings, just after the last speech and when the dance floor is about to open is an ideal time for us to begin. Otherwise, during cocktail hour is also a viable option. 

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance to secure your date, especially during peak event seasons. However, we can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests based on availability.

How do we receive our images?

Two ways! We provide instant viewing and instant delivery of web ready images during the event and professionally retouched images ready for web and print within two weeks of the event.

How many images do we receive?

We instantly deliver 6-12 images of each group or individual that we photograph in a personal gallery directly to their email addresses. The final retouched gallery is made up of the best images from each group so that really depends on how many people attend the event.

What types of events do you cover?

We specialize in corporate events, galas, fundraisers, weddings, and private parties. If you’re hosting an event and want to offer your guests a unique portrait experience, we’d love to discuss how we can fit into your plans.

What are your pricing and payment terms?

Pricing varies based on event size, location, and selected services. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date, with the balance due 30 days before the event.
